Android Auto developed by Google for mirroring the features of an android smartphone to your car dashboard (Infotainment System). Google launched this feature in India among with 17 other countries like Colombia, Switzerland, Brazil, and Austria.
This feature was introduced on March 19, 2015, about 4 years ago and the requirement is a smartphone device (Android 5.0+), A USB cable, Android Auto supported infotainment system in your car like Pioneer and Kenwood.
This feature is specially designed to project your smartphone features on your car dashboard for easy to access while driving. like you can use Navigation, Voice Calls, and Music from your smartphone.
All you need to have a USB data cable, A compatible vehicle or aftermarket stereos like Moreover, Pioneer, and Kenwood. And also android smartphone device with android version 5.0 or above.
Simply it works like a smart device controller on your car after setting up it with your car infotainment system. Make sure you have a good internet connection on your mobile to get updates from Google Map.
I have mentioned the basic requirements above, after getting all thing ready to connect your smartphone to your car’s infotainment system (Stereo) via USB cable. Turn on the internet connection and give permission to the android auto app. Now you can see a pop-up icon of Auto on your stereo touch that icon to proceed.
Boom! now you have entered to the Android App Dashboard section. here you can manage all things Like making a voice call or talk to the google assistance, Play the music and the good thing is you don’t have to do all things manually google will do it automatically with a voice command.
Android Auto also supports some third-party app like WhatsApp and Skype etc. And the Bluetooth was automatically enabled for this operation. And a cool feature is whenever you receive a message google Assistant will automatically read that and you can reply with a voice command.
This feature is compatible with large numbers of cars, mostly the new ones. You can also check out the list by clicking here. Mahindra New Scorpio model will be supported that feature and Mahindra XUV 500 was the first car in India which comes with the Android Auto feature.
if you want to install new infotainment in your old car that doesn’t support the Android Auto feature then you must have to checkout the official Android Auto page for stereos and cars information. Personally, I recommend using the Pioneer and Kenwood system for a better experience.
